Creating Proxies from Sony FS5 4K footage
Posted by Mark Krueger on October 26, 2017 at 12:00 pmWhen I try to create a proxy file for FS5 Sony 4K clip I get an error message regarding the 4 channel audio being not compatible. Therefore it does not generate a proxy file. Any ideas here?

I have not had this issue but below is a link to the setting I have had success with when making proxies for FS5 4K. This is using the ProRes 422LT codec.
Ingest Preset Proxy ProRes 422 LT for F5 (4096 X 2160) to 1024 X540 Ingest.epr

October 26, 2017 at 5:22 pmYour proxies have to match the 4k files exactly with regards to audio channels. If you have 4 channels of audio on the 4k files then your ingest setting must also be four channel. When I made proxies I had to create custom ingest presets with correct audio channel information because the default ingest options didn’t have 4 channel audio. You create the custom ingest presets in Encoder and then export the preset to a location that you can steer to in the proxy settings pop up in premiere.
