I have been using layers in photoshop elements 4 and I have tried beveled type edges and a variety of things to create raised looking attractive text but cannot seem to create the desired affect.

I simply want to create a raised look 3-D type of text that looks sharp to use on a DVD insert jacket.

I have included a screen shot of what I would like. Bear in mind this was created by another software bundled with my Epson printer. Not photoshop. How do I get this affect in photoshop?

    Thanks!

    Don

That’s just a copy of the text, offset. One copy is white, over a copy that is black.

All you have to do is type the text , place it where u want it, then double click on the text layer in your layers panel. once that is open you can select the option for drop shadow, and adjust the parameters to achieve the desired effect.

Such a simple thing but when you don’t know how to access it the job seems huge. With your kind and helpful tip I was able to create some really nice looking text I think. My whole hearted thanks and what would I ever do without CREATIVE COW!
