Creating Picture in Picture effect by using a mask.
Hi there,
I wanted to create picture in picture effect with premiere pro.
but I experienced a little problem.
I created an alpha channel images in PS,
Imported it in Premiere pro, apply track matt to the image I’d place in a little window.
Yes, I could create P in P effect, but here is a problem….
As I move or change the size of the image/footage I’d place in a little window,
mask change its size and positions, too.
How can I lock the position and size of mask
and freely move and change the size of the images/footages behind it?thanx!

nest the picture that you want to move around.
that way you are fooling the track matte key into thinking that the nest is the picture.
you can then move the picture around without moving the matte.
the best way to do this is: make your nest 2 layers. on the bottom layer put your pic. on the top later put your matte.
apply a 50% opacity to the matte. move your pic to your liking. when done make the matte 0% opacity. -
Why not just create a rectangular mask on your full-screen image, and place the “picture in picture” image on a track below it in the timeline? Then you can do whatever you want to the PIP image “behind” the front full-screen image. It’s easy to create a mask on one clip, and copy/Paste Attributes to all the clips in the upper track.

I would go for Blaise plan since I still need to edit “full screen” side. Its one simple edit but stacked like 15tracks . Nesting them would be a pain imho.
