Creating Optimized Video yields tracks with audio but blank video
Importing footage from a Canon 60D into FCPX. Option checked to optimize footage using ProRes 422.
Once this is done, some of my video clips (maybe 5-10 out of 100 or so) play back with only the audio, almost like the video is missing. It just shows black in the viewer or if you add it to the timeline. I can’t find a rhyme or reason as to why certain ones work and some do not. (they are all the same resolution, frame-rate, shot on the same camera). Original media plays back just fine, but even if I open these transcoded files in the finder, they still do not have any video showing. For now, I’m going to try to transcode using mpeg streamclip like I am used to doing and then import into FCPX without creating optimized media. But I’d love to know if anyone else has this issue and how it might be fixed. It’d be nice to let FCPX do the work for me so I can get to editing and sorting clips quicker.
