    Hello,
I recently had a problem with my internal boot drive in my Mac Pro (Dual Core Intel).
I could not boot from it, only a spinning circle for hours and hours. It became unfixable,
even Disc Warrior couldn’t fix it. Running on Snow Leopard, I reinstall Snow Leopard on
another internal drive, got it to start up, transfered all important files from the Old Boot
drive, (the files were available to me) and everything seemed fine.
Now I’ve started to reload Applications on the new Boot DRive, and things such as Final Cut Pro
Studio 2 are taking very, very long.
Should I have installed the original OS X (that came with the computer) instead of going directly to
Snow Leopard? (I believe the original OS was 10.4.7)
I have subsequently taken the Old DRive out, and have tried putting it back in (to reformat) but could
not get the Icon to appear.
I think that one is shot.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Joe
