    USING FINAL CUT PRO 5

I have two actors playing cops searching a densely wooded hillside.

What I want it to look like is that there’s a whole police department searching the hillside, so I’m either going to need to find 15+ of my friends and uniforms (uniforms are the hard part) or perhaps I can use some tricks in editing, and two actors will do.

I know how to make two versions of myself giving each other high fives using cropping under the motion tab, basically splitting each shot left and right and stacking them on top of each other.

But what If I want a large amount of characters that might over lap each other? Like a huge braveheart army of 100s charging up a hill? Couldn’t I take a group of 10 friends, dress them up different, have them run close together and change them and their positions and have a huge crowd?

I know this is possible but the “cropping” method doesn’t seem like it would work.

    Any help, much appreciated.

Ah yes, CROWD REPLICATION. If it is an open field, than green screening your two actors several times (at the same angle at the original shoot) might do it for you. But crowded woods? With lots of trees and shrubs? Your talking SHAKE…
