  Creating mattes for loose objects in motion

  Hello everyone,

  My name is Dariusz Liszewski, this is my first post here.
  I just started my adventure with Fusion and VFX at all and I have a question:
  Is there any way of creating matte for flying sand in the wind? I shot a scene from which I have to remove the lantern, but … “this sand”. And the sand is the main actor here.

  Is that even possible? 
  For if it were possible would you be so kind and tell me how to solve this problem, please.
