    Hey all,

I can make grass fine, but I want to have it so that various objects (a sphere, for example) are affecting the grass (pushing it aside, etc) as the objects move along.

    Any simple solution?

    Thanks,

    Alex

you should just have to put a Hair Collider tag on the object you want to push the grass around. Collisions are on by default in the Hair object.

this doesn’t work… i have tried the following:

a1) applied ‘hair collider” to sphere as well as a rigid body dynamics tag (because if I don’t add rigid body, it doesn’t move at all)
b1) created a landscape object, applied the architectural grass material to it. also applied ‘collider body’ tag to the landscape object (because if I don’t, then the sphere just drops straight through)

using this method, the grass is completely unaffected.

i have also tried replacing step (b1) with step (b2)

(b2) created a landscape object, applied the hair material to it. applied ‘collider body’ tag to the landscape object (because if I don’t, then the sphere just drops straight through)

so what am I doing wrong/

can’t use Architectural Grass for this, it’s a specialized quick grass that doesn’t have any collision settings – no settings at all except the settings in the material. You have to use ‘real’ grass.
