Creating greyscale maps
Hi… Just a question… Im viewing all sorts of tutorials on using Lens Blur effects/ displacement e.t.c with teh greyscale map below your footage layer. But I can not work out how to create the greyscale in the first place. I have tried simply painting one using paint on a black solid but that seems to have no effect. Can someone help me with how to create greyscale maps?

You need to make the map an image (render it and import it) or precompose the map layer, or make the map in a separate comp, then drag that into the main comp.
