creating closed-captioning in DSP
Hi everyone – –
Is there an easy way to create closed-captions in DVD Studio Pro without sending them to a captioning house? I have hundreds of clips that have already been captioned for QuickTime (SMIL format) and Flash (TexML) and it seems like such a waste if I can just change some formatting.

You cannot create Closed Captions within DVDSP, you would need to convert your files to .scc (no idea if this can be done) or get the place that did them to send you scc files (or go to subtitle format). Also DVDSP needs pop on CC. (Verses roll on).

Have a look at my subtitler:

It can create .scc files now.
What it cannot do (yet) is import smil or flash (although it can output flash XML)
But that is no problem. If you send me a sample flash file (perhaps you have another format than i’m used to) i can write an input module quite easy.Bouke
