creating clips from timeline

Yep. Select the area you wish to create as a new clip, and then Tools/Render as new Track.
you can also create subclips, but they’re virtual subclips, different than some users expect their new clips to be.

Thanks for reply but:
Tools > Render to New Track > wants to render the whole timeline
not just the selected “highlighted area”. Is there a better way to create
just a short clip from timeline? IE a 10 second cut of the ocean?
