Creating Clip List…. Catalyst Browse V Content Browser…SxS problems
Creating a Clip List ( works with XDCAM Proxies ) using the New Sony Catalyst Browse is reasonably straight forward
But finding a limitation compared to the older Content Browser
I can’t find an easy way to be looking at a long source clip , putting IN’s and OUT’s and adding several sub clips to Clip List
In Content Browser its easy…Create a New Clip List , go to source then IN /OUT add, IN/ OUT add etc then Save it
In Catalyst Browse I seemingly have to add the whole clip several times then go back to those individual clips and change the IN and OUT
I do this by the way to very quickly create a way to feed B roll, selected interviews from the field back to HQ for news editing
The clip list ( metadata ) finds the HD MXF and plays back your selected sub clips
Means the editor does not have to deal with spooling back and forward from the field
I can get this to work for XDCAM Optical disks
On an SxS card I cannot see the CLIP LIST option on either an SxS camera or an SxS deck
I hope this makes sense to those who know Content Browser and Catalyst Browser
