  • Creating an interlaced DVD…

    Hello,

I created a movie with After Effects and rendered it with fields and totally uncompressed. So far, so good, if I watch a still from the movie, I can perfectly see and distinguish the scanlines.

Now, I wanted to create a DVD that also plays it back interlaced, but if I do so, the lines get messed up, some of them are thicker and some of them thinner, etc. I think it’s a result of compression.

Then I read that you need MPEG-2 which supports fields when compressing. I used WinAVI to convert to DVD, but you can’t set an option that he should use MPEG-2, so I don’t know which Codec is used. But obviously not the correct one…

Is there a good (Windows) program that does this correctly? Or am I doing something wrong?
