How do you create a new Bin to help organize your favorite effects?

February 1, 2007 at 3:12 pmAnd the other way to do this-
Click on (highlight) your effect in the timeline, thenEffects (menu) > Make Favorite Effect
That effect will appear in Browser window, Effects Tab > Favorites
If you double-click on the Favorites bin, it will open as a separate window.
In that Favorites window, you can create new bins (Command – B)
and you can drag the effects you want into new bins. -

Its better to make a bin as well. in FCP there is often a need to trash the preferences. when you do you lose all your favorites. if you have them in a bin saved to project or even a generic project, you can recover them and re instate as your favorites easily
hope this helps

February 1, 2007 at 8:39 pmI have had issues with effects switching order in the effects pallet. You can create them in the effects pallet then drag them into the browser where you can rearrange them. And as mentioned already you can save them with the project and they will be safe when you trash your prefs. bins
