creating a wireframe image from a jpeg

February 8, 2008 at 2:25 amI’d open the JPEG with Illustrator, lock the image layer, double click on the image layer in the Layers palette and check the ‘Dim Image…’ box.
Create a new layer and use the Pen or Pencil tool to illustrate the raster image.
You can, than, make adjustments to the strokes by adjusting line weights, applying brushes, or whatever.You could also use similar techniques in Photoshop.

February 8, 2008 at 5:09 pmthanks Vince, when you say “illustrate” do you mean actually draw? Cause I was looking for something a little less hands on, see i’m not much of an illustrator, lemme see if I can find a link to an example, hopefully thats allowed

February 9, 2008 at 3:51 amlol. 🙂 The easiest way I know that would enable you to produce something like your example would be to use Poser 5 (or better).
It’s an easy to use 3D modeling program. It simply uses parameter dials to ‘re-sculpt’ preset human figures, or heads in your case. The trick might be creating the moustache and hair, depending which period in ol’ Z’s life you were referencing – which you would have to model in a 3D app.
I don’t have an easy answer for this one. 🙁Good Luck.
