I am trying to make a short movie and in it I am supposed to have an identical twin. I filmed the footage on a tri pod and figured it would be easy to make it look like there were two people in the shot. I figured all I had to was take the two images and lay them on top of eachother and create a mask around one of them so the image below would show and there would be two of me in the shot. But when I do this one of the images is clearly lighter than the other when I create the mask and it is very noticable. I tried doing a bunch of things, I played with the levels, in the switches mode I darkened it, but whatever I did it did not work. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

    Thanks,
    Jason

Yea I could easily refilm it. I basically did a test shot to make sure it was going to work. But I think it goes beyond the lighting. When I filmed it I made sure that it was well lit and there were not shadows running over to each side.

Nope but problem solved now. Thanks a lot. I did not think about that. I am fairly new to AE and dont use masks that much. Thanks again.

also when shooting it make sure you don’t have the automatic aperture/light balance (I’m not sure what the correct term is) – do it manually, otherwise it will adjust itself depending on what is in shot…… a camera person can probably explain that better.
