I am having some difficulty in creating a tassel (those things on a graduation cap).

the biggest problem I have is that the individual strands need to lie on and conform to a castle roof (sloped).

So, I can create individual cylinders and apply a bend object but that is not too accurate and I will be here forever. I tried sweep nurbs – might be the best bet.

I am not a C4D expert but I am sure there is a better way here. Can’t I have the undividual cylinders automatically conform to the rooftop without haveing to go through a major hassle?

    Thanks in advance!

If you use splines and a Sweep for the strands you could project the splines onto the roof. Clothhilde would be good too (maybe ideal) if you have it.

Thanks for the help… yes, splines would be good- even though I have to create each individual strand and then conform. I have clothilde but have not got into it yet. I am basically looking for a REALLY easy way to create the strands and then have them replicated. I was think of a hair plug-in but i think that would be too crazy.

    Any other thoughts or ideas?

maybe create the tassel with HairDepartmentME then apply clothHilde to droop it.

Here is an example. The tassel (such as it is) was made using HairDepartment and a disk. Squashed a bit after. ClothHilde applied to the ‘strands’. Just go into the Cloth tag’s Dresser tab and click Relax. The strands could use a bit more subdivision or a clothNurb maybe but it’s just an example.
