    Hello,

I’m really beginner into Cinema 4d and having difficulties.

I was trying to build a sphere made out of bunch of hexagons and trying to animate by all the hexagons are scale up and build the sphere. I did my hexagon and using object to sphere in Mograph clone. But no matter how I try hexagons are not lining up nicely.

Is there any other way to achieve what I want?

thank you so much for helping me

Finally, I solved the problem by myself.

It was a bad idea to build my hexagons first and trying to clone it to a sphere, as it was mathematically impossible to build sphere by hexagons.

So I created a icosahedron type sphere and later on I subdivided the sphere using a hyperNURBS subdivide option. And melted the edges and left over with the sphere with hexagons and some pentagons. Created my mograph clone and created a cylinder and used object to edge and scale to edge. So now I have a fully control of mograph to be animated later on.

u seem to have a pretty good grasp for a beginner! 😉

    – yes, and check the other options for that platonic object – bucky is really helpful for these soccerball type forms

It’s all the those pesky details :p
