Creating a specific HD MPEG2 file
I’m having trouble figuring out how to create the following file for a client:
– All files must be delivered as elementary stream.
– Codec: MPEG2 … Frame Size: 1920×1080 … OAR: from 1.78:1 up to 2.35:1
… Frame rate: 50i … Stream Type: MPEG2 Video Stream (Main Profile @ High Level)
… Field Dominance: Upper Field First …. Bit rate: not less than 50 Mbit/s CBR
… Chroma Format: 4:2:2Certain specs I can find/create separately but not all together … for example, trying to get 50Mbit/s CBR, I can only seem to find 40 at the most.
Now, the source files I’m using are as follows:
– Apple Pro Res, 25fps, 1440×1080, 48k 16bit
– Apple Pro Res, 25fps, 720×576 (16:9), 48k 24 bit
Do these need to be converted to 1920×1080 50fps before sending to Compressor or other software?Files for client have to be MPEG2 … cannot send them a .mov file
Using FCP 7.0.3 and Compressor 3.5.3
I deal more with dubbing and basic editing, so I’m not as well versed when it comes to digital conversions and codecs. Any suggestions would help … thanks!
