Creating a setup DVD for 5.1 surround sound
I want to create a DVD that contains audio test tones that are actually mono in nature but will be mapped in PPR to selected 5.1 channels with the track controls to cycle the tone to each channel for effective level setting of each speaker. There is no video with this piece except for a round test pattern which can be used for a quick check of video symmetry.
I don’t believe that it is necessary to begin with a 5.1 audio source in order to map channels/clips to a specifc 5.1 channel. I just have not figured out exactly how to do this.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I set up 5.1 surround sound in Adobe Premiere, but it channels all 6 tracks to a Master fader (stereo). When continuing to try to create a DVD with 5.1 surround sound (using Dolby Digital 5.1 for exporting audio), it only comes out as stereo instead of 5.1 surround sound. Do you know what I need to do?

I’m not sure how you expect a stereo master track to magically export 5.1 audio. 🙂
Create a new sequence and choose a 5.1 master audio track. Copy the clips from the original sequence and paste them into the new sequence.
