    hello all-
    making a low budget film and want to create some effects- like muzzle flares from guns, bullets hits on walls and people and flames coming from an apartment window. anyone out there veresed in film effects?

    Hey,

    Sounds like all good fun. Bullet impacts, you’ll need tracking setups for that. But for muzzle flashes, I saw this break down of a composite that you might like to see ..

    They have break downs on all effects, not a high budget film but still a good example of what to look for, and so on .. anyways, hope that helps.

    Also, there’s an app from the UK called Alam DV (2) which specializes in this sort of thing; it’s $90 (50 pounds, I forget how many Euros) and developers are constantly adding new plugins. It is a bit fan-boyish but very useful.
