    Hey guys,

So I’m trying to create a “film strip” effect with my animation.

So think of one of these: https://www.infobarrel.com/media/image/138955.png

Now imagine that the camera is stationary, and the film strip is flashing by very quickly, and on each film “square” is a stick figure that is moving, stop-motion style.

My question is, how can I do this without having to create a separate composition for each “square”, because if I only use one composition, it’ll change every square, instead of one at a time. Also I’ve found that I can’t use a loop, because I need my stick figure parented to the square to move along with it, and I don’t want my stick figure looping – I want him independent of the loop, moving on his own.

Could anyone guide me through this? I’m still fairly new to AE.

    Thanks
