  • Creating a dynamic cord for a Grappling Hook

    Hi guys!
I’m making a grappling hook for a short animation I’m making. I’m trying to set it up so that the cord is dynamic and connected to the hook, that way I can just set it up, set velocities on the grappling hook and the cord automatically simulates and acts accordingly.

Your help is appreciated 😀 Will be trying out different methods…

Spline Dynamics on a spline constrained (one end of it) to the grapple would be one way

Tried that, but whenever the hook touches the ground, the spline goes nuts, points fly all over the place.

yeah, it’s really sensitive. I did some tests back then and got this (but the texture on the ‘rope’ was bugging me) I tried a cloth/softbody rope that wouldn’t stretch but that went nowhere.
