I have about four different sections (wedding ceremony, reception, highlight reel, etc.) that have all been edited and rendered as AVI files. What is the best way to create a DVD containing all of these sections? Do I simply open a new timeline and drag each of these sections onto the line and re-render all of these parts again as one, large AVI file? Any suggestions as to the best way to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

    You have two options:

    1) Add them as separate pieces to the DVD. If you want them to play back to back, you’ll have to “End Action” from one segment to the next. This has some disadvantages such as a slight pause between segments.

    2) Render the whole project to a single file. This will let the video play straight through with now issues. Also, hitting the “previous chapter” button will properly work across segments.

If it were me, I’d add the segments to a new project and render as MPEG2 and AC3 from Vegas. For more details, you might take a look at Vol 4 #1 of my newsletters.
