Did anyone check out the rotoscoping tutorial by Peter O’ Connel on the front page of the website? If so, I see he has a clean plate, now if he was provided with nothing but that shot of the cars, how would ge go about in creating a clean plate? Paint? Masks? More roto?

    – Thanks a bunch.

If your camera’s locked down, you should be able to duplicate the video layer, the draw a mask around the car in the upper layer, then slide that layer left or right until the car has moved out of the frame and you just have the street, feather the mask. If it’s not locked down, you’ll need to reposition/rotate the layer until everything lines up. Then Composition>Save Frame As>File and you should have your clean plate, or a reasonable facsimile-there-of.
