Does anyone know how to create a background that looks like a smoke machine has been used? Like a layer of smoke on the ground sort of thing? Is it possible to be able to make it move as well, not much, just smoke movements…
Also is there anyway to look as though someone is blowing smoke and smoke coming from a cigarette?

Here’s a simple way to create smoke using the basic AE tools – How to Make Smoke/Fog

If you have Trapcode Particular(you can download a free trial), you can create 3D smoke/fog that will react to AE’s cameras.

At around 31:00, Andrew Kramer use particular to create 3D fog in this tutorial. Also if you google “3D Fog” “Particular” you will find a lot of tutorials that can show you how to do it.
