  • Creating a Audio Visualizer in AE?

    Hello all!

I’m trying to create an audio visualizer (like the one found in Itunes of Windows Media Player) and I need the visualizer to bounce to a music track I have. I’ve scanned the cow posts for this and haven’t found much. I did however come across a post talking about a plugin called “Milky Way” by ObviousFX. This is exactly what I need but it seems that they dont make the plugin for Mac.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to create this?… I’ve considered using Quartz Composer but it seems a bit complex. If I had a tutorial It might help but I can’t find any on-line.

    Hope someone can help.

Not sure what look you exactly want, but most of these plugins simply accumulate different pixel buffers to create streaks, so you could use the Echo effect applied to a precomp where your stuff is pumping to the music. Another trick often used is to create kaliedoscopic effects, which also could be done in several ways in aE either with plugins or manually. It really depends.

    Hi Myleninum

As I’m also looking for something like this I would aprechiate if you could elaborate. I’m fairly new to AE and by the sound of it it seems possible to achieve this within AE. Although, as it happens, ParticleIllusion SE [https://www.wondertouch.com/] (as conviently addvertized om this page) also seems to be somewhat an alternative. However not sure how much the audio part is considered there and how compatible with AE it is (stand alone app).
