  • creating a 1940’s, WW2 look??? HELP PLEASE

Posted by Stuart Bailey on June 6, 2009 at 1:00 pm

    Hi guys,

I’m trying to create a 1940’s style effect for my video so it looks like its a World War 2 clip,

I’ve done the filming and changed it to black and white, but does anyone know how to add an effect that will help it look like a 1940’s/WW2 film?

    thanks for helping

    Stu

1940s? WWII? I don’t know what kind of look you’re going for. Scratched film? Old film? Camera shake from cameras being rocked by explosions?

I’m with Todd, I don’t know what kind of effect you mean when you say World War II film. I assume, since you said that you colored your footage black and white that you don’t mean the Saving Private Ryan look which has become synonymous with WWII movies these days.

Do you mean the old news reel look? With the flickering, jumpy, scratched look? Or do you mean like a Hollywood film from the 1940s?

I made a basic bleach bypass preset like Saving Private Ryan in cs3

    1. desaturated
    2. contrast
    3. difussion
    4. bleach bypass silver retention
    5. 2 strip
    6. grain
    7. no blue sky

if you need more dirt, just turn up the brown multiplier effect under temp. control
