Creating 3D VR renders
Hey all,
Anyone know of a plugin that will knock this out for me without having to mess with tricky scripts, expresso, python, rendering multiple cameras, etc? I’m not a programmer, I’m an artist.
To my amazement, Cinema 4D (R16) does not offer spherical cameras to get this done so I have tried to resort to the next possible solution – baking a reflection on a sphere to get a 360 degree image with proper distortion. This would be great except the client is requesting a 3D top over bottom image for use in VR. I tried to render out a second sphere slightly separate from the first. It looks great if I look to the right…excellent depth, however, when looking to my left, somehow the foreground objects show further away and vice versa….like the depth reverses itself.
I am beating my head against the desk trying to figure this out. I’ve tried bringing the spheres closer together, same result. Offsetting the top image from the bottom a bit in Photoshop…no luck.
There seems to be a plugin called Blendy360Cam and it would be perfect to solve this for me but their site is busted and won’t let me download it and they don’t respond to emails….perfect.
Can anyone bring anything to the table on this one?
Many thanks for ideas and efforts!
Brian
