I tried to render out a 24p DVD from Vegas, but the result had terrible aliasing on edges and titles when played back on certain DVD players. I wound up having to render at 29.97 interlaced to get a decent result with all players. Maybe certain players can’t handle progressive? What DVD render settings do you use with 24p projects? Thanks.

You are correct, some DVD players can’t handle 24p natively. For the best compatibility use the “DVD Architect 24p NTSC video stream” or “DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream” template. They will both add 2-3 pulldown to the 23.976 frame rate to keep it at 29.970.

Thanks for your reply. I believe that is the setting I used and had trouble with one DVD player (it played fine on others). I wound up changing the setting to DVD NTSC Widescreen 29.97 to get a DVD that played decently on the older “rouge” player. Thanks for the input.
