Create Video Fade Template…
Hello, this is my first time using this forum, so I’m hoping someone can help me.
We currently edit on Sony Vegas 9.0. I have a product that we produce more than 30 of every week. It requires a 15 frame video dissolve at the head and tail of every video clip. I’d rather not have to go into every clip and slip the fade effect 15 frames on each end… that can be very tedious.
Does anyone know of a way to create a fade effect template in Vegas that I can just drag and drop onto the clip? When I used avid years ago you could just mark in to out, select dissolve, and then add effect from in to out. Does Vegas have something like that that I’m unaware of?
Now I’d rather cut my right arm off rather than go back to using Avid again…lol… but hopefully you can understand what I’m trying to do here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

BTW, any media on the Vegas timeline is an event – not a clip. (Vasst and SCS should know better, but there it is in their advertising).

You’re in luck as John Rofrano has a script for doing this in the Fade in/out video event question thread.
It’s designed for a 1 sec. fade in/out but can be easily modified.
