I know you can use Vegas Command markers to cause the viewer to jump to a URL link while watching a video, but I want to do the opposite – Create a set of topic links that would allow the viewer to jump to that part of the video where the topic of interest starts. I think there must be a way to do this with a single longer video rather than rendering the short topic segments, but I’m not sure how. If I did render the short segments, is there a way to make them play in sequence automatically? I know how to do this in DVD Architect, but not for files going on a website.

Thanks much for any thoughts on this.

Apparently, it is possible to set up links to certain time stamps in embedded YouTube videos on a page, but my project is for a university website which has it’s own Flash streaming server, so I was hoping to avoid YouTube. Link to the YouTube info:

So I guess the question is how to do this with non-YouTube FLV streaming or progressive download videos, or with some other format.

Find the documentation on the player the university is using. It may include the keyword that will position the video at a specific place. Most players have them as an optional parameter.
