Hi, i’ve been watching some videos made in Sony Vegas, and i just wonder about a thing, how i best create some lines that are animated.
It seems simple but well, i’ve actually no idea which is the ‘correct’ or best way to do them in.
Here’s the example which i most wonder about
at 22 secounds in the video, the white fat lines where the lyrics are comming on.

how do i create this the best way? Do i make a white picture in photoshop or something like that, like 2000×50 in size or something? Then i put it into sony vegas and make it to original size with the pan/crop tool.
Then i add cookie cutter and cut it away!? Or how else to make it easy and good??

    Emil,

I would use a white solid color generated media, adjust the track composite to about 15% (?) and use a mask in the event pan/crop window with keyframes to animate the thing.

I’d use a color gradient instead but the beauty of Vegas is that there’s almost always more than one way to do something.

Ok firstly i don’t know what this means: “adjust the track composite to about 15%”.
And then, where do i do that gradient thing than?

I used parent motion (track 1) so the text and the bar (tracks 2 & 3) could be rotated (or zoomed, or whatever) as one object. There are two masks at work on track 3. A positive one and a negative one, be sure to notice the mode. The positive one limits how much of the solid you will see, the negative one makes it disappear from the center out.

The opacity turned out to be 45 percent, see track 3 level.

Ignore the marker, things got moved.

    Hope it helps,

    Jeff

Aw, the file from rapidshare is removed =(
    I don’t like rapidshare =|
If possible you still have the project file on your computer, i would appreciate it very much.
Since i’m now with a friend who also have Sony Vegas 9.
And i was going to check out the project how you done it etc.

Also upload for sure on mediafire, megaupload or rghost. Imo that’s the best upload sites i know, doesn’t delete the files after some months however.
