Create Extended Markers
Hello –
One of the cool new features that Adobe added in CS6 was the ability to have markers that spanned over a length of time, instead of just one point in the clip. This is particularly useful to me, because I am often editing in another language that I only half know, so putting in translations for parts that confuse me mean that I can keep the translation right on the media file / timeline.
I refer to these as “extended markers” because I’m not aware of a specific name that Adobe gave these, and this is what they were called in FCP (R.I.P.)
However, I am very unclear about how to CREATE these markers. The only way I’ve figured out was to make a marker in a timeline or clip using the marker button or hotkey, then open up the Markers palette, then manually change the “out” time until I can see the handles on the timeline that I can then manipulate with my mouse. Does anyone know of an easier way to make these markers – hopefully with the keyboard?
On the topic of extended markers, I really would love for extended markers like these to come in from Adobe Prelude… seems like a no brainier to me…
