Create composition within composition

January 16, 2021 at 12:58 amHi guys, I want to ask you if you know how to create a composition within a composition but in folder. The only way I could create a composition is through Folder object but I want to have a composition in the project with nested compositions.
Thank you in advance!

January 20, 2021 at 3:56 amI really don’t understand the question. You can have comps in comps in comps with no issue. Just drop a comp from the project panel into an open comp.
You can place comps in folders in the project panel.

January 21, 2021 at 1:29 amThank you for your answer Michael and excuse me if my question wasn’t clear, let me explain you better my situation.
I’m using extendscript to create a composition with some nested compositions. The main composition is created(let’s call it mainComp) correctly inside the project, so far this is good for me. Then I want to have nested compositions in mainComp but I don’t want them part of the project (is it possible?). Every time I create a composition I need to specify the project’s folder where it will be placed, this behaviour is the one I don’t want however if I duplicate a layer which contains a composition the new one won’t create a composition in the project :O.
I’m going to attach an image with the compositions generated by my script better my situation.
[Test3_face_photo], [Test_02_body_photo], [Test3_01_body_photo] exist as a composition in the project I duplicated those layes, as I explained before, and the result is same layers with _stroke suffix.
I don’t even know if what I want is possible.
Thank you again in advance.

January 21, 2021 at 8:48 amIf duplicating your comps solves the issue, you could look at a free plugin called true-comp-duplicator on aescripts which allows you to duplicate the comps easily without replacing the nested comps individually. Here is a link: https://aescripts.com/true-comp-duplicator/
