I need to create some realistic cloud animation in AfterEffects and I’ve try using Aurora Sky as well as Trapcode Particular but none of them produce the effects that I want. I need “indivdual Puffy cloud than move around in the same spot” ans I can animate the xy prosition later on

I’ve got good stills of puff cloud with Alpha channel but don’t know how I could create a realistic movements, or does any one knows other AE plugin that let you create custom shape and custom movements of clouds

    please help

    Thanks
    Allen

Particular could be an interesting start. search for trapcode people in google and there is a great site with a cloud example.

But if you want anything photoreal you’ll need after burn and a 3D program. there’s always stock footage…

I have not seen any realistic clouds made in AE without a 3rd party plugin.

I think “Particle Illusion” may be something worth looking into.

Or you could dive into Cinema 4D 😉

You might give this tutorial a look…don’t know if you could apply this principle to your still shot to put it in motion or not.

i’ve used particular to create realistic wispy/smokey clouds, though not puffy clouds… i can’t see how you’d be able to use your stills convincingly — for this work you’ll need a particle generator. if particular won’t do the job, then i’d go 3D.

Tinderbox also has a nice sky & cloud-simulation.
