Create an MXF file out of FCP6 or Compressor 3
As the title says I need to create an MXF file out of FCP6 or Compressor 3 for file delivery to LifeTime.
I tried using XDCam Transfer Tool and the Export MXF option in final cut and the output options were locked. There was no way to customize them from what I saw.
LifeTime have very specific specs and I can’t seem to find an option that allows me to set the specs I need and export as an actual MXF extension file.
LifeTimes’s specs are…
Type: MXF OP1a (internal/self-contained) Wrapper Format
Resolution: 1920×1080
Video Compression Codec: XDCAM HD for NLE Record Format
Container: .mxf
Frame Rate: 29.97/1080i
Scanning Format: Interlaced
Video Bitrate: 50 Mbps Long GOP
GOP Length: 12
Bit depth: 8bit
Chroma: 4:2:2
Audio: PCM
Audio Sample Rate: 48kHz
Audio Bitrate: 16bit
Audio Configuration: 8 total audio channels, 1 channel per stream – 2 channel stereo on 1 & 2, 3-6 MOS
Closed Captioning/VANC Type: SMPTE 436M Track with 300 bytes per frameI can change a lot of option in FCP or Compressor, but the file is exported as an MXF in a QT wrapper.
If I try to change the extension to MXF afterwards it doesn’t work.
I tried Adobe Media Encoder too and I can not change the audio setting they are set at Uncompressed Stereo 24bit.
Steve.
