Create an hour glass where sand falls into the shape of skyscraper
Im a middle-weight user of Maya 2011 and After Effects CS3. I need to make an hour glass where the sand falls down to form the shape of a skyscraper building. Im searching tutorials but not sure how to go around this. Would value any suggestions to get me started.

Best would be to use a particle system in Maya to create the sand and the hourglass. Animate the camera also in Maya and export camera data to AE. Render the hourglass with the sand and then composite and ad effects in AE.

i did find a tutorial to do hour glass in 3ds max but i don’t have a system for that software. i was looking for a similar tutorial in Maya … i can use Maya and AE but i usually like to follow a tutorial to guide me through but I couldn’t find one for Maya.
I’ll give it a whirl and let u know how it get on.
