  • Create an extrudable, circular brush that is aligned to a spline

I’m trying to create a “stroked” spline, whose end growth I can control from 0–100%, and which resembles a simple, circular brush (say, from Photoshop), but which can be extruded in depth. I’ve got it working almost how I want it to, but not quite, with a spline and a rectangle under a sweep. Is there a better way to do what I’m trying to do with a different setup? I want to be able to edit things like the brush size (right now using one of the rectangle dimensions), the end growth of the brush (how far it has painted) along the spline, and the depth to which the brush gets extruded. Any ideas?

For perpetuity: I think I’ve decided to go with a cylinder object cloned along the spline using a Cloner set to Object with the Spline dropped in the object field. I’ve nested that all under a connect object and it seems to be working out okay though the edges won’t be quite as smooth as they could be. If anyone else has other suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
