I am looking for a way to animate a motion but only every 2 frames. What I’m trying to achieve is a motion not so “smooth” but more of like a traditional 2d animation. Basically, there’s a new drawing/movement every 2nd frame, so each drawing is held on screen for 2 frames.

Is there a way to do this without manually adding keyframes and holding it every 2 frames?

    Thanks so much!

If using existing motion footage, “posterize time” would do this.

For original stop-motion, or drawn-paper animation on twos, I suggest Boinx iStopmotion.

You can also use the blend between frames button in the 60fps comp on the 12fps nested layer. This will simulate the blend we used to do optically when doing cell animation. You can also time stretch your 12fps comp when it is brought into the 60 fps comp and choose the frame blending option there too. (draft setting – jaggie line – will produce each frame is as it was and hold that frame for the next frame. Best setting – smooth diag line- will blend between the “missing”frames)
