Create a script or “Droplet” for illustrator

I have a basic function (image trace) that I do in Illustrator very often. I would like to create something similar to Photoshop’s droplets where I can just drag files onto it and it does the saved action.

I understand that I can ‘batch’ actions, and this is my fallback, but was hoping someone would have a faster way (Rather than opening Illustrator, navigating to the batch option and selecting what I want to do, picking the output folder….etc)

If droplets aren’t a thing in Illustrator, could it be done with a script somehow?
