    Thanks once again all.

I didn’t think it would be as simple as just asking DVDA to make a DVD, but it works and looks fine.

Yea it’s that simple and for the most part it looks great. The are those who say that you should render a second time from Vegas specially for DVD to get the “ultimate” quality but I really can’t tell the difference and it’s so convenient that I just let DVD Architect take care of it.

Yea, that’s because PAL and NTSC Widescreen is not exactly 16:9 like HD is. If you want to fix this, you need to go back and re-render your project in Vegas Pro by either cropping the entire project to 16:9 or checking the options to [x] Stretch video to fill output frame (do not letterbox) when you render.

    Hi,Good Morning Sir,Mr.John Rofrano)

checking the options to [x] Stretch video to fill output frame (do not letterbox) when you render.

1)Is this option for Dvd pal widescreen 16:9?

2)When i rendering my footage for BLU-RAY out put, should i do Strecth Video,so i can make DVD output from 1920×1080 using DVDA.

3)At the moment for dvd output i pull down from 1920×1080 to 720×576 widescreen dvd pal.Is this right way.

    Thank You

[Thayalan Paramasawam] “1)Is this option for Dvd pal widescreen 16:9?”

This option is independent of any render type. It is not part of any template. You can use it to match the aspect of any format.

[Thayalan Paramasawam] “2)When i rendering my footage for BLU-RAY out put, should i do Strecth Video,so i can make DVD output from 1920×1080 using DVDA.”

You don’t need to use this for HD because HD is already 16:9. Leaving it enabled will not harm anything; it will be ignored.

[Thayalan Paramasawam] “3)At the moment for dvd output i pull down from 1920×1080 to 720×576 widescreen dvd pal.Is this right way.”

Yes this is the right way.

Just to explain the math behind the problem. 16:9 means 16 units wide by 9 units high where “units” could be any measurement you want. Here is the calculation for PAL Widescreen:

    PAL Widescreen is 720 x 576 PAR 1.4568 (non-square pixels)

First you need to calculate the width in square pixels:

    720 x 1.4568 = 1048.896 (1049)

That means PAL Widescreen is 1049 x 576 PAR 1.0

If we divide 576 by 9 and then multiply by 16 we will get the true 16:9 dimensions we need:

    576 (pixels) / 9 (units) = 64 (pixels per unit)
    16 (units) * 64 (pixels) = 1024 (pixels)

So 16:9 would be 1024 x 576 but PAL is 1049 x 576 which is why you need to either stretch or crop to make it fit 16:9.

    Hope that helps.
