Create a DIVX HD certified file with menu’s & chapters?
I have always been under the impression that the only files that I can produce disc’s/files that have menu’s & chapters are SD DVD’s & Blu-Ray disc’s. A friend pointed out that my Topfield TRT-7170 PVR was DIVX HD certified. I tried looking up just what that meant & found that chapters are & menus’ are mentioned. Since the DIvX website is apparently under construction I can’t ask there forum just what happens.
I wanted to know if I have to the DIVX software/codec to create files that have menus & chapters that would play on my PVR or does the DIVX software just shrink down existing disks/files that were SD but is able to do this just substitutes a more efficient codec?
I have heard that MakeMKV can make a bit by bit copy of a BLu-Ray file but I would not want to do this since I want the menu’s & chapters. I prefer the idea of creating menu’s in DVDA & having them converted for playing in the pvr or media player.
Thanks in advance
