Create a 3D box with Opening Lids
I am trying to create and animate a 3D box and animate the lids opening as well in After Effects. I seem to be finding all kinds of tuts about animating 3D boxes but none that animate the lids opening.
Can this be done and if so how would I do this?

Move the anchor point of your “lid” to the edge, where the hinge would be. Then animate that layer’s rotation. Voila: the lid lifts….
If you want more complex box-opening animations, is’t mostly a matter of parenting the proper layer to other layers, setting your anchor points in the proper location, and animating their rotations….

Alright, I have tired this and it kind of worked but it only looks like the lid is opening half way, almost to vanishing point to where it goes into the flip. I am having trouble getting it skewed so it looks like it has opened all the way and the other lid I can’t even get it to work at all. Can you apply for than one anchor point to one shape layor? If so, how?
Also, I have never used ‘Parents’ before, which means I have no idea how to use them. Can you recommend where I can find out how to use these?
