Create 40 second wipe or crossfade
I want to draw a line on a map to show the progress of the route. I know that I need both a still that displays the start as well as a prepared still that already has the line added by using Photoshop.
I suspect that this might be done either as a transitional wipe or else as a very long cross fade. The problem is that it needs to last for about 40 seconds as it is supposed to be displayed semi transparent as another track above shows different scenes . Can this be achieved?

Several folks on here have had success with a free program called Route Generator.
Give it a try as you have nothing to lose but some time 🙂 -
Here’s a thread on the Vegas Pro forum I posted awhile back on how to generate map animations using Google earth. Works pretty well.

Thanks for the tip to use Route Generator. It’s something I’ve been looking for. Can’t quite get the generated Avi to play nicely with Vegas but it’s a great tool, even for generating bump files.
