Just switching over from FCP to PPro CC 7.2.2

When I place an audio source that is not from an A/V clip on a timeline the TC display is in samples, not frames. This is also true with multicam audio sources. Doesn’t matter which audio track I use in the timeline I get display numbers like 01;23;13;02782 instead of 01;23;13;01, which is how the video from the multicam is displayed. This becomes really problematic when using multicam because it makes it impossible to know if the audio and video are in sync.

I am hoping and assuming that I am doing something wrong, although I can’t find a sequence setting to fix it. This can’t be the way the software is designed, nobody could be that stupid, can they?

I’m new to PP also. if you click on the little wrench tool you have the option to display “show audio Time Units” ..unclick that.

It is already unclicked. If that feature was on ALL the audio would display as samples. On my timeline the audio that comes with video clips displays properly as frames. It’s only aif. files, like music, and the audio from multicam sources that is displaying in samples.

that’s weird. I just dropped a wav file on track 1. clicked on it..clicked on the wrench tool and was able to show “audio time units” and then unclick and go back to normal time code display.
also I noticed that on the left side you can right click on the time code and make changes there also.
don’t get me started here…I want to make a quick razor cut on my wav file and cant. if I twirl down the track to get the waveform I cant make a cut. if I twirl it up so I cant see the waveform I can…makes no sense.

Jerry – are you using the latest Cloud version of PPro? I am and in my version the “show audio time units” is in the regular timeline menu, not in the wrench thingy. And it only changes the time code ruler at the top of the timeline. I’m trying to change the time code overlays that appear in the program monitor – (similar to FCP time code windows in the Canvas viewer)
