Crawl with crop keyframes speeds up crawl
Ok, so I am onlining a tv show that’s being edited cross country. Basically the workflow is I get an external harddrive, copy the media into the Avid media folder, and copy the bin (consolidated) to a projects folder.
There are these crawls that happen throughout the show, kind of like a CNN crawl at the bottom of the screen. They wipe on with a graphic, and there is a crop keyframe that wipes the text on.
Here’s the problem – Sometimes (maybe 4 or 5 crawls in each show) the crawl zips on the screen, then slows to the correct speed. It matches with the keyframes for the crop – meaning its sped up for the duration of the wipe, but then crawls at the correct speed once it hits that keyframe for the crop. I asked the offline editor about it and he says it should all be the same speed.
I tend to think the problem could be that the offline is using an older version of Media Composer than we have for the online.
Any suggestions or solutions? Currently I’ve been deleting the crop keyframe and putting it back in, which seems to make it better, but it still looks faster than it should be.
Hopefully I’m explaining this correctly. Any help is appreciated!
