Crashing when i try and Reload files
I’ve created a few different template AF files that I intended to use again and again…….They are title sequences for wedding videos and motion menus.
I created the file and had no issue with them originally. Today I’ve come back to them hoping to alter the footage but when I open the files all allot of the linked files are missing. I don’t get a warning message saying my files are missing they just have that colored bar effect. when i double click on the file/files to relink AF just crashes. not like freez but give you the little time symbol but does nothing.
I spent ages creating these template files and really need them does anyone know what the problem might be? I’ve relinked files before with no problems?
forgot to say that its also just crashing when i try and open files…not all the time but quite frequent.

A few things that may help us:
1- What system are you on- Windows, Mac, os version…
2- What version of AE are you using?
3- Any upgrades you made to AE or system lately
4- What version of AE are your templates saved in?

I’m on mac and I’m using CS3 haven’t made any new update the file extension is .aep

Is all the original footage you used in your templates on the local hard drive or on a external drive?

its all still there ……every time I reopen these files they forget the links…..it appears to have randomly stopped for now?? I’m afraid to close the file i have opened in case it does it again

This all sounds really strange- try saving the project that works under a different name and post also on the adobe forums, maybe someone there can give you more input.
