    Re my earlier posts where FCP crashed consistently after capturing now or batch capture, I simply moved my memory allocation to 80% and it’s behaving perfectly, hope this helps omeone else

    How did you change the allocation? I haven’t had to do that since OS 9.

    I don’t know why they defalut to 100% leaving no memory for background processes, but I’ve had mine set to 95% & bumped up the still cache to 30% from 10% because I have a lot of cuts on the timeline. So that extra still cache keeps my timeline chugging along nicely.

    Hi trinity, go into your FCP system preferences/Memory tab and you’ll see the slider for adjusting the memory allocation, easypeasy.
