I’ve tried trashing preferences, used safe boot and run disk utilities, run MacJanitor, run Disk Warrior, checked the time codes – every single time I try to export my sequence (doesn’t matter what format – QT Movie, audio AIFF, print to Video – any format – Final Cut just blows up – poof – nada – Also, auto save which has been set for every 15 minutes is not working (nothing in autosave bin) and the project does not show in “recent files” – yet, I can pull it up from the saved file in my FCP projects folder. Help! (Of course, I’m on a deadline…) Can anyone figure out why the program keeps crashing? (Media is stored on an external 250 LaCie Extreme) and I’m running FCP 5.0.4 on a dual G5 (2Gz with 2.5 GB memory).
    Thanks,
    Cirina

These things are almost impossible to diagnose by remote control. It’s rather up to you to begin a carefully orchestrated binary search to determine if your problem lies with FCP (doesn’t sound like it), your System and if any other apps behave the same way (could be) or your drives (could be).

I am only speculating but this sounds like a System issue. When you ran Disk Utilities did you start from your OS10 install disk and run Repair or just do permissions from your hard drive’s utilities?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
